When receiving Holy Communion, approach Fr. Alex telling him your name, tilt back your head, and widely open your mouth (no need to extend your tongue).  Father will distribute the Eucharist with a one-use wooden spoon.

MAY BIRTHDAYS: Mary PAK (4th), Kylie CASON (5th), Patricia ABRAHAM (15th), Tetiana DZHINDZHOLIA (19th), Sena Sofia SONMEZLER (30th)

ALSO - On Sunday mornings at 7:40 am (20 minutes before Divine Liturgy) we are praying the third hour found at https://mci.archpitt.org/sheetmusic/general/Third_Hour.pdf

UKRAINE RELIEF: Please consider donating to our second collection for our brothers and sisters in Ukraine.  The money will be sent there to care for refugees and for all the people there who are suffering from effects of the war.  Please leave your donations in the collection plate on the table in the Narthex or include in your Sunday offering envelope, indicating the amount.

SCHEDULING LITURGIES: Father Alex’s calendar has openings in 2024.  If you have an occasion to give thanks: graduation from school, a birthday or a special anniversary, or if you have a special need or want to remember parents or family members who have gone before us, Liturgy would be a great opportunity to do so. Please see Father Alex or Reader Joe to schedule.

WELCOME to Father Deacon David BLACK who has come to serve Typica with Holy Communion on Sunday mornings while Father Alex is on vacation.  Father Deacon David is a Melkite Greek Catholic Deacon from Holy Transfiguration parish in McLean, VA.

FIFTH ALL SOULS SATURDAY: The final All Souls Saturday of the year is usually prayed during the weekend of Pentecost Sunday.  However, since Father Alex will not be here, we will be postponing until he returns.  In the meantime, if you have any updates to your family’s hramoty list (list of the deceased), please see Reader Joe Bernard.

SPECIAL PRAYER INTENTION: Please keep Father Alex Shuter in your prayers while he is on extended vacation.

PRAYER REMEMBRANCE FOR THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED:  Bayard RICHARD, brother-in-law of Maureen Bernard, who passed away on May 9th
